Fishing in Delaware
There are ample opportunities to fish throughout the state of Delaware. Charter a boat to go deep sea fishing or cast your line into the surf. Go fly fishing or bottom fishing. Rent a boat and fish all day in local ponds. Catch bluegill, carp, crappie, catfish, perch, flounder, croaker, stripers. Go crabbing and clamming from April to September at Indian River, Rehoboth and Little Assawoman.
Catch yellow perch, bluegills and largemouth bass from the Nanticoke river. Launch your boat at Phillips Landing Boat Ramp on Broad Creek.
At Lums Pond State Park, fish off the pier. In winter, go ice fishing here. In summer rent boats.
In Milton, at Diamond Pond and Wagamon's Pond, fish for pickeral and bluegill. Then, head over to Killens Pond, rent a boat and catch bluegill, carp, perch and crappie.
Boat ramps are found at Little Creek and other wildlife areas.
Fish along the Murderkill River at Bowers Beach.
Charter boats at Bowers Beach, Lewes and Milford. You can take a head boat or charter a private boat to offshore canyons or the Gulf Stream. Fish for Shark, Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Marlin.
Surf fish at Cape Henlopen State Park, Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island. Catch flounder, croaker and stripers. In the spring, catch bluefish, sea trout, kingfish. Best fishing for sea trout, flounder and striped bass is in late fall.
At Indian River Marina in the Delaware Seashore State Park, you can buy bait and tackle, get your boat repaired and launch your boat for a fee.
