Cape Henlopen State Park is located east of Lewes along the Atlantic Ocean. There are over 5000 acres, a fishing pier,  on the Delaware Bay, a seaside nature center, a biking and walking path, and a campground.

Delaware Seashore State Park - Rt. 1 midway between Fenwick Island and South Bethany

Fort Delaware State Park is on Pea Patch island located on the Delaware River and accessible via Ferry. Fort Delaware was a Civil war fort. Living History program.

Fort DuPont State Park is in Delaware City off Rt. 9. It is on the Delaware River. Fishing, tennis

Holts Landing State Park located south of Felton Delaware one mile east of US Rt. 13. campground, cabins, Killens Pond Waterpark with 2 water slides.

Lums Pond State Park is located south of Newark off DE Rt. 896 in Bear Delaware. fishing, hiking, camping, picnic areas, horse trails

Port Penn Interpretive center is located at DE Rt. 9 in Port Penn Delaware. exhibits and programs on the wetlands, trails and a historic homes village walk.

Trap Pond State Park is located east of Laurel Delaware off Rt. 24. hike, fish, picnic, canoe, wildlife, wildflowers, wetlands, camping, cabins

Fenwick Island is in southern Delaware. There is a beach. You can go swimming, surfing, fishing and picnic. There are restrooms, drinking water, gift and souvenir shops.

White Clay Creek State Park is located north of Newark on DE Rt. 896. Carpenter recreation area, White Clay Creek Preserve, trails, biking, birdwatching, streams

Wilmington Area

Bellevue State Park is located off 95 exit 9 Marsh Rd. Wilmington, Delaware. There is a historic mansion once own by the DuPont family, tennis courts, gardens, walking or biking path.

Brandywine Creek State Park is located north of Wilmington at the corner of Rt. 100 and Rt. 92.  There are hiking trails and a Nature center.

White Clay Creek is in Northern Delaware.  You can go fishing,  hiking, biking, horse back riding. There are restrooms, drinking water, playgrounds, picnic grounds and a nature center.

State Forests

There are 3 state forests in Delaware. They are: Blackbird, Redden and Taber. You can go hiking and biking here. There is a handicapped accessible nature trail at Blackbird State Forest.
