Historical Sites

Cooch's Bridge is located on Rt. 4. This is the location of  a Revolutionary War battle that was fought September 3, 1777.

Hales-Byrnes House is located at 606 Stanton Christiana Rd. This house was built in 1750. George Washington and Lafayette met here before the Battle of Brandywine.

Iron Hill museum is located at 1355 Old Baltimore Pike. This museum was once a one room schoolhouse for African Americans. There are exhibits and hiking trails. On the grounds is the colonial iron mines and the Native American jasper quarry.
